9th Annual Dinner & Auction Gala

On November 5th, more than 500 people gathered to support TLRC and our Redesigning Dining Phase II campaign. The intrigue of the yet-to-be-completed LeMay America's Car Museum made this our fourth consecutive sellout. Guests were eager to see the beautiful cars, architecture, décor, and of course, raise money for TLRC.

Dick Foley did a wonderful job as emcee for the evening and auctioneer Ken Carson, the voice of the Seahawks and Sounders, returned for the third year. His energetic style helped us auction off trips, cruises, catered dinners, Seahawks tickets, a large outdoor playhouse, and a one-of-a-kind handmade baby cradle modeled after one at Culzean Castle, in Scotland.

Our first live auction item of the evening was Rich Marshall of Maryhill Winery who served as the sommelier for one lucky table for the evening. Our second was Cherries Jubilee made table side (for the highest bidder) by Iron Chef Craig Haslebacher, who defeated Bobby Flay on Food Network TV's Iron Chef.

Country music star Brett Eldredge gave a special video message asking for guests' support of the event. After his video message, guests watched his music video "Raymond"- the story of a nursing home employee mistaken by a patient with Alzheimer's for her deceased son, who was killed at war. Brett's commitment to seniors runs deep, as the song was inspired by his Grandmother's struggle with Alzheimer's.

A huge thank you to all our sponsors and guests who made the event such a success. We'd also like to give a special thank you to our wonderful Gala Chairs Paul and Linda Ellingson for their support of the Gala this year and their faithful support of TLRC.

The proceeds from the event will support our Redesigning Dining Phase II campaign to update the dining experience for our Deli/Dining Room. On behalf of our Board of Trustees, residents, and staff, thank you for your generosity.
